Denise Oyama Miller's In The News

My good friend, Denise Oyama Miller, has one of her fabulous quilts featured in the February-March 2020 issue of Quilting Arts Magazine in an article on "Shifting Tides." Is this quilt not stunning? Check out the article and visit Art In The Village gallery in Multnomah to see some of her other quilts in person.

Recent additions to the gallery's exhibit of Denise's textile work are these beautiful wall hangings. Can you imagine one or more of them in your home?:

I've known Gretha Lindwood for more than ten years and have watched her consistently create stunning paintings using soft pastel on sanded paper. She is equally comfortable painting plein aire or in her studio and the results are always beautiful. I'm sharing three of her pieces that are currently available at Art In The Village gallery. They are even more impressive in person!

More New Artwork Available

As a follow up to my last post, more new artwork is now on display at Art In The Village. Amerinda Alpern is showing a number of new necklaces and earrings that she has designed and created; two of her lovely necklaces are shown here.

Also, Annie Salness has been experimenting and is moving in a new direction with a more abstract take on her landscape painting. This beauty is acrylic on board and will be available at AITV through the end of February.

If you're looking for amazing sculpture, you'll want to be sure to see Sam Hingston's Bloom #26, which arrived along with two other wooden sculptures designed and created in Sam's Beaverton studio. I now have seven of his pieces available in the gallery.

I hope to share these outstanding creations with you. Make Art In The Village a regular destination!

Just a reminder, Winter Hours are Fridays and Saturdays - 11 to 6
First Fridays - 11 to 8
Also, any time the "Gallery Open" signs are in the windows.

Happy New Year from Art In The Village

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and that you've gotten off to a great start in 2020.

What's new at Art In The Village? -

  • We have a new A-frame sign located on the corner of Multnomah Boulevard and SW 40th Avenue on the days when the gallery is open. Be sure to look for the A-frame sign and the "Gallery Open" signs in the windows. Official hours are 11 to 6 every Friday and Saturday but I am often working in my studio on weekdays and I open the gallery on those occasions.

  • We will be open the weekend of February 1 and 2 when many of the artists in our building will host an Open Studios event. Hours are 11 to 4 p.m. Join me along with Brenda Boylan, Chas Martin, Cherie Shanteau, and Janet Otten on Saturday or Sunday. Parking is usually available directly in front of the building and there is no charge to park or participate.
